Premios Tony reconocen por primera vez a actriz en silla de ruedas

La estadunidense Ali Stroker se convirtió en la primera actriz en silla de ruedas en recibir el galardón.

Ali Stroker hizo historia al convertirse en la primera actriz en silla de ruedas galardonada en los Premios Tony. 

La actriz recibió el premio a Mejor actriz de reparto, en el escenario del Radio City Musical Hall, en Nueva York, en donde ofreció un emotivo discurso.

"Este premio es para cada niño que tenga una discapacidad, que tiene una limitación o un desafío, que han estado esperando para verse a sí mismos representados en esta arena", dijo.

Stroker recibió el reconocimiento por su trabajo en la puesta en escena Oklahoma! en donde cada función muestra su técnica vocal y actoral.

Happy #worldtheatreday !! My first love. Oh I am so so grateful I found Theatre. It has set me free in so many ways. I’ve met the greatest loves of my life while studying and doing theatre. Theatre has given me confidence to be seen and heard. I don’t know where I would be in this world without the beautiful world of theatre. Thank you all for supporting and loving me while I do it. And man, if I could tell 4th grade Ali that in 20 years you will be on Broadway, she would lose it. What a beautiful journey!
